SOMETHING HAPPENED:
Support for Providers Navigating Perinatal Loss and Trauma

A Seven Week Online Course for Providers to Increase Your Confidence and Effectiveness Working with Perinatal Loss and Trauma.
Registration is NOW OPEN
Are you a professional who  works with families during childbearing years (i.e.,: a mental health therapist, social worker, nurse, physician, childbirth educator, doula, facilitator, or baby catcher)?

When Navigating perinatal loss and trauma with families you support do you:
  • sometimes struggle to feel competent in your ability to  find the right words to support these families?
  • have a hard time not bringing your work home?
  • have difficulty staying present with your OWN family
  • struggle to fall asleep at night or have other symptoms of chronic stress?

Here is the thing - some courses will teach you  the terminology around pregnancy loss, infant death or traumatic childbirth. Some courses might even help you understand trauma and grief theory.

In this course, you’ll definitely learn  all of that, PLUS you’ll learn how to APPLY your knowledge  for the benefit of the families you work with. In addition, you’ll  learn how to nurture YOURSELF and be more present in YOUR LIFE so that your family can enjoy more of the best of who you are, and not just the “you” that’s tired, and seriously stressed at the end of a long work day.

Research points to a high rate of secondary traumatic stress for professionals who navigate pregnancy loss, infant death, and  traumatic childbirth.

Part of what helps prevent secondary traumatic stress is high quality EDUCATION AND TRAINING helping professionals be competent in the care they provide families.
Though we know when trauma does not heal it can AFFECT ONE’S ABILITY TO BE RESPONSIVE AND PRESENT during the next emergency.
Also, without healing, trauma CHANGES THE WAY WE INTERACT WITH THE WORLD!  It affects our professional skills and can impact our important family and personal connections.

This course is for you if you find yourself struggling with some of the effects of secondary traumatic stress AND you want to provide a solid research-based approach to families in your care who are navigating perinatal loss and trauma

This course will  help you:
+BE PRESENT  with your families in the midst of all the heavy stuff.
+BECOME CONFIDENT AND COMPETENT  in your work around pregnancy loss, infant death, and traumatic childbirth.
+FIND THE TIME AND ENERGY  to take care of you - so you can continue to provide amazing care to our families without the burden of vicarious or secondary trauma.
+ GAIN HELPFUL EVIDENCE-BASED TOOLS  to support yourself and your families through the heavy grief and trauma.
